Our Mission: Committed to Caring

The Henry County Humane Society (HCHS) was created in 1981 to prevent cruelty to animals in Henry County (Ohio), & to instill humane principles in society.  The HCHS promotes, encourages, & celebrates the compassionate treatment of humans & animals alike by providing:
  • A full service animal shelter for lost, abused, abandoned, & unwanted animals
  • A humane agent to investigate & prosecute claims of animal cruelty when education is not enough
  • Lost & Found animal assistance - including weekday reports "Critters' Corner" on WNDH radio
  • Public information that educates people about the importance of spaying & neutering dogs & cats, the humane treatment of animals, & how to be a responsible pet guardian.
  • Providing spay/neuter clinics.
Through these programs & services we are working to make Henry County a better place to live for all creatures, big and small.
